writer, coach, teacher, and student

I am a writer and coach based in Thunder Bay, inspired in and by northwestern Ontario’s boreal forest and Lake Superior, their beauty, vulnerability, and residents, both human and beyond human.

I am a poet, a creative writer, and an experienced freelance writer with more than 20 years of experience writing for news media and other publications, including non-profit, tourism, business, industry, education, healthcare, and corporate communications.

I have always loved imagining, inventing, and writing poems and stories. Growing up, I imagined and wrote all kinds of stories and poems. When I was six years old, I created my first (and last) rap song. I dreamed of becoming a writer or a journalist. I studied both English Literature and Journalism.

I have enjoyed a fascinating career as a freelance writer, corporate communications professional, and teacher. Following my heart, I lived and travelled across Canada, the United States, Ireland, France, and Belgium.

I have recently written a collection of ecopoetry inspired by the environment here, especially near the Lake Superior shoreline, including the continued devastating impact of colonization on the people and land.

In addition to writing and editing, I am also a coach. I would love to help you transform your dream of writing into a reality.

Feel free to contact me if you are ready to work with a writing coach or editor.

I look forward to joining you on your big adventure.
